Sleeking

Sleeking is an advanced finishing technique that adds metallic effects or high gloss to specific areas of your print. The effect can be applied to text, logos, patterns and other design elements to create eye-catching contrast against the rest of the surface.

The technique uses heat-activated foil that bonds to the printed areas with a special toner. The result is a metallic or high-gloss effect that stands out distinctly — especially striking on a matte laminated background, where the contrast between matte and gloss creates an exclusive tactile experience.

Sleeking is ideal for business cards, book covers, invitations, certificates, packaging and premium brochures where you want to add an extra layer of refinement and exclusivity to your design.

Foil finish: Silver metallic, gold metallic, copper metallic, holographic, high-gloss transparent. The foil is applied with heat to a special toner.

Application: Selective sleeking on chosen areas (text, logo, patterns) or full-surface sleeking. Requires print with special sleek-compatible toner.

Combination: Most effective in combination with matte lamination, where the contrast between matte and metallic/gloss creates a tactile and visual wow effect.

The sleeking foil is metal-based and applied in ultra-thin layers, minimising material use. Because only selected areas are covered, far less material is used than with full-surface lamination.

What is the difference between digital print and offset print?

Digital print needs no plates and is ideal for smaller runs, personalisation and fast delivery. Offset is most economical at large runs. At XL Print we work primarily with digital print, but we can also offer offset print jobs.
