Folding & Creasing
Folding is a core finishing process that prepares your printed matter for distribution. XL Print offers precise machine folding in a range of formats — from simple half folds to complex Z-folds and gate folds. The result is sharp, clean folds that give a professional appearance.
Creasing (scoring) is a pretreatment applied to heavier paper and board before folding. Creasing ensures the material folds sharply without cracking or tearing — particularly important for coated paper over 170 g/m².
We offer folding and creasing for brochures, leaflets, direct mail, product sheets, menus and packaging. With our modern machinery we can handle both large runs and small batches with short lead times.
Fold types: Half fold, tri-fold (roll fold/Z-fold), gate fold, cross fold, open gate fold, parallel fold and custom folds as needed.
Creasing: Scoring for paper from 170 g/m² and up. Always recommended for coated paper and board to avoid cracking in the fold.
Compatibility: Works with all paper types and weights. Formats from business card to A3+ in both portrait and landscape.
Folding and creasing are mechanical processes without the use of chemicals or liquids. The process adds no environmental impact beyond the energy the machines use, and we optimise runs to minimise energy consumption.
The finished products consist solely of paper and are fully recyclable. We recommend FSC-certified paper for the most sustainable overall solution.
