Vinyl Print

Vinyl print is a versatile printing method where graphics, text and images are printed directly onto self-adhesive vinyl film. The method delivers sharp, colour-accurate results suitable for everything from shop facades and office signs to vehicle graphics and exhibition decor.

At XL Print we use UV-curing inks and premium vinyl films from leading manufacturers. This ensures excellent UV resistance and durability — typically 5-7 years outdoors depending on film choice and exposure. We offer printing on white, transparent and coloured film.

Vinyl print can be applied to almost any smooth surface: glass, metal, wood, plastic and painted surfaces. We also offer contour cutting so the film can be cut to the exact shape your design requires.

Film type: Self-adhesive cast or calendered vinyl (monomeric, polymeric or cast qualities)

Thickness: 50-100 micron depending on film type

Adhesive: Permanent or removable acrylic adhesive — optional as required

Print technology: UV-curing or eco-solvent print up to 1440 dpi resolution

Finish: Matte, gloss or satin — can be finished with laminate for extra protection

Durability: 3-7 years outdoors depending on film quality and placement

We use PVC-based vinyl films, which are the industry standard for durability and weather resistance. Our UV-curing inks are free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs), significantly reducing the environmental impact during production.

XL Print continuously works to minimise waste through precise digital cutting and optimised material use. We sort and recycle residual material where possible and partner with suppliers that hold documented environmental certifications.

Durable outdoor quality

UV-resistant colours and weatherproof film ensure your graphics stay sharp and colour-accurate for up to 7 years — even in direct sunlight and rain.

Spørgsmål og svar

De mest stillede spørgsmål om vores ydelser og processer.

Can you make window film with print and frosting?

Yes, printed film with full-colour graphics, frosted effect for privacy, one-way vision for shop fronts and decorative film with patterns or logos. Everything produced to fit your windows exactly.

What is contour cutting, and when do I need it?

Contour cutting is a precise cutting method where vinyl is cut exactly along the contours of the design – with no background at all. It's typically used for window film, vehicle logos, signs and decorative elements, giving a clean, professional look.

Depending on the material, we use cutting, milling or kiss-cut. You don't need to decide — we'll pick the right production method for you. The only requirement is that the cut line is clearly indicated in your original design file on its own layer in your PDF.

Do you do car wrapping?

Yes, we produce vinyls for full and partial wraps of cars, vans and trucks using durable, UV-resistant vinyl films. The film can be designed with anything from simple logos to fully covering graphics. We also offer professional installation.

Can XL Print help with graphic design and layout?

Yes, we offer graphic assistance and advice on setting up print files. For larger design jobs we can refer you to our network of skilled graphic designers.

What are the correct resolution requirements for print?

For standard print we recommend at least 300 dpi at the final print size. For large format (over 1 metre) 150 dpi is often enough. For façade banners 72–100 dpi can be acceptable. We always check your files and advise.
